Golf can be played on a beautiful course with as many people as you like, and in very pleasant weather. Golf if very gentle on your body, and is truly the sport of a lifetime.

Golf has many physical benefits and is a very efficient way to stay in shape, and has many physical benefits. With golf, you will get the most out of a round if you walk the course; this will also burn a number of calories and improve your cardiovascular health.

Carrying your clubs will strengthen your upper body and actually hitting the ball improves your hand to eye coordination.

Golf can be played by yourself or with as many friends as you like. You can also chat and visit between each hole while you are waiting on others to finish their holes. Or if you enjoy playing by yourself, you can enjoy the great outdoors, at your own pace.

Professional golfers make the game look easy. Their swing seems as fluid and effortless as running water, and they look as thought they are on a leisurely stroll as they pound drives more than 300 yards and hit high soft iron shots. The truth is they young professionals are strong and fit enough to make a complicated athletic move look simple.

Few amateurs can devote that amount of time, energy, and money to their golf games, but that shouldn’t stop them from making positive changes in their games by improving their strength and conditioning. Golf is a game of balance, discipline, and touch.

Enhancing and improving those specific shills, requires a balanced regimen with four important components: strength, flexibility, endurance, and diet.

There are many books and videos one this subject and I would suggest that all golfers invest in a good golf fitness program.

Good Golfing.

Dr. Richard Myers

richard@thinkandreachpar.com
www.thinkandreachpar.com

About the Author

An avid golfer, we maintain a golf training website with golf tips, weekly golf training, golf related articles, and a weekly newsletter. Ron Tanner

http://www.swingtosuccess.com

When it comes down to the crunch, there are
three strokes which need to be practiced more so
than any of the others.

#1 - Driving

Whatever thoughts you have in your head about
driving at this moment in time, whether it's
technical issues or simple issues like, just
standing over the ball and hitting it as hard
and as far as you can, this section of the
article should help you.

A bad set-up leads to a bad backswing, which in
turn creates problems on the downswing.

At address, your lead shoulder should be higher
than the other with your head behind the ball.

*Remember* tempo is everything.

Take the club away from the ball low and slow,
turning your shoulders 90 degrees, with a
45 degree hip turn.

Keep your legs stable as you turn making sure
that you do NOT let your arms get behind your
body.

Follow through strong with commitment to the
shot. The swing doesn't finish at impact.

Your weight should feel that it's moved onto
your left side (right side if left-handed).

"Getting the ball off the tee and keeping it
in play makes all the difference to your
entire round of golf"

#2 - Chipping

Chipping is probably the least practiced shot,
yet should be a top priority on your practice
plan.

You will not reach your full potential until
you learn how to chip the ball close to the
hole.

*Important* learn the proper set-up.

Your weight should be on your lead side. Playing
the ball back in your stance will encourage
the club to make contact with the ball first
and the ground second.

Take the club stright back on the target line,
holding your wrists in a firm position through
impact.

Try chipping with an 8 or 7 iron until you
master the bump n' run and then proceed to
master the chip shot playing the wedge.

#3 - Putting

In a sense, putting can either win or lose you
the game.

Good posture at address is important to remember
and maintain during the stroke.

Bend at the hips with your weight centred over
the balls of your feet. This helps to prevent
you getting round shouldered and positions your
eyes directly over the ball.

Once you have selected a line stay committed
to it. Do NOT break your wrists. Perform the
stroke with your shoulders, playing the ball
off your left heel (right if you're left-handed).

Make sure you take the putter straight-back to
straight-forward for short putts.

Practice your long putts for rhythm and your
short putts for the line.

To your golfing success...

Steve Tanner & Ron Tanner
Tanatica Golf Solutions
http://www.swingtosuccess.com

(c)2003 Tanatica Golf Solutions

Tanatica Golf Solutions provide the hottest golf tips,
secrets and techniques that will explode your golfing
potential.

Find out how a 24 handicap golfer drastically cut his shots
by 21 to a handicap of 3 in under eight months using the
Swing To Success techniques.

Click here to Find Out More: http://www.swingtosuccess.com

This article courtesy of http://www.iprogolf.com.

Golfing links:

Golf Draw - The Best Step-By-Step System

Golf Swing - Hit The Ball Longer!

Proper Golf Swing - Save Yourself Time and Money!

Correct Golf Swing - Increase your shot distance!

Golf Club Swing Speed - Approach Each Shot With Confidence!

Golf Swing - Hit Crisp, Powerful, Consistent, Controlled Draws

Golf Tip - Hit The Ball 17 Yards Longer!
Golf Instructions - How You Should Be Gripping The Club For The Best Results!

Golf Exercise - Improve Your Arm Movement

Golf Swing Tip - Here's The Best Way To Consistently Draw The Ball
